We train and manage exceptional nannies, teaching them everything from the wisdom of early pioneers in childcare to modern practices, cultural diversity, and how to fully embrace the magic of a winter season in the Alps.
For families, our first-hand experience means we don’t just understand childcare—we understand ski holidays with children. We’re here to help you plan the perfect family adventure, where everyone feels supported, safe, and free to enjoy the mountains.

I'm Catissa
Boubird & co. was founded by me!
I’m a qualified Early Years Teacher with a BA Honours degree in Early Education, and over the years, I’ve had the joy of travelling and working all over the world. Along the way, I’ve met so many wonderful families and children, and explored a range of pedagogies in nurseries, schools, and residential children’s homes.
Now settled in the French Alps, I became a Muma in 2021, and wow, did that transform everything! I thought I was an expert in childcare before having a baby, but my son has taught me more than I could have imagined. Becoming a parent has deepened my empathy for families and the emotional juggle of raising children while still carving out space for yourself.
I understand the conflict, wanting to be with your child every moment, but also needing time to recharge, to reconnect with your passions, and to feel like you. As a keen snowboarder, I know how precious a few hours on the mountain can be!
At the heart of everything I do is one simple mission: to support my team in offering care that’s reliable, nurturing, and fun for your little ones, so that you can relax and enjoy your holiday with peace of mind.
How it all started...
Boubird Childcare began in 2015 as a one-girl band—just me, a passion for working with children, and a snowboard tucked under my arm!
I didn’t set out to build a business purely for profit. I created Boubird to give myself a sense of freedom, to choose the people I worked with, and to build something that aligned with my values: creativity, connection, and quality care.
Over the years, Boubird has grown into a small but mighty team of amazing nannies. It’s become a space where I can pass on everything I’ve learned and give younger nannies the same incredible experiences I was lucky to have. We work together to grow our practice in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment-where learning, laughter, and love of nature are all part of the job.
Boubird was built from the heart, and it continues to grow with that same intention: to give families a truly magical ski holiday experience, where everyone- parents, children, and nannies- feels cared for.

Some fun facts about me...
After years of travelling and spending most of my 20s near the beach, I never imagined I’d settle in the mountains. But here I am—and I absolutely love it. The fresh air, the ever-changing seasons, and the endless adventures make this place feel like home in the most unexpected, magical way.
My love of snowboarding is what brought me to the mountains—and it's also how I met my husband! He’s born and bred here in beautiful Savoie, and together we've built a life rooted in adventure, nature, and family. The mountains gave me more than just a thrill… they gave me my forever team.
In the early days of building Boubird, I lived the best of both worlds- nannying in the Alps during winter and soaking up the sun in Ibiza during summer. Those seasons were filled with adventure, growth, and incredible families. I still miss the laid-back Ibiza lifestyle, the barefoot beach days.
I’m a Mum’s-mum through and through. Tantrum in the middle of the supermarket? I’ll give you the most supportive smile.
Forgot something major? That’s exactly what Muma tribes are for.
Baby at après? Go on… I’ll hold your buggy while you dance.
I’m forever inspired by the teachings of Montessori and Steiner, and I weave those philosophies into everything we do at Boubird & co.. I believe that nature is the best classroom, and I encourage my team to be outside as much as possible, just like in Forest School settings.
I’ve travelled far and wide, and I can say with absolute certainty—British children's literature is unmatched. I proudly stand by it! I can recite The Gruffalo word for word (and a few others too!)
